An epic historical drama, Cleopatra, is one of the most expensive films ever made in Hollywood. It portrays a story of three powerful figures during 48 B.C., Cleopatra (Elizabeth Taylor), Queen of Egypt, Julius Caesar (Rex Harrison) and the queen’s Roman lover, Marc Antony (Richard Burton). During a crisis, Cleopatra successfully uses her charm to seduce Caesar, the Roman invader, to help her rise to power. Unfortunately, Caesar’s infatuation for her runs deeper than politic and causes the end of his power. Some years later, Marc Antony, a Roman general, becomes her lover. Together they must fight against the great Roman Empire.
