Released in 1973, The Exorcist became a major cultural phenomenon because it was so horrify that audiences were in shock during the screening. It is the first horror movie to win two Academy Awards and is still regarded as the greatest horror movie among its generation. The Exorcist tells the story of a famous actress, Chris, who notices violent changes in her daughter’s behavior. After failing with many treatments, Chris believes that her daughter might have been possessed. She has no choices but to turn to a troubled young priest who is struggling with his faith.
This new digital cinema print was created from restored picture and audio elements under the supervision of Friedkin.
